Hans Damsgaard has a long and successful career in the telecommunications industry. Hans is currently the Vice President for Specialty Photonics Marketing and Sales at OFS, a position they have held since October 2018. Prior to this, Damsgaard served as the Managing Director of OFS Fitel Denmark from 2007 to 2018. Hans also has experience as a member of the Board at Acacia Communications Inc. from 2009 to 2016 and at OFS Joint Venture Russia from 2005 to 2008. Damsgaard worked at Lucent Technologies Denmark I/S as an Executive Vice President from 2000 to 2007 and as a Director for Specialty Fiber Devices at Lucent Technologies from 1998 to 1999. Hans also held the position of Manager R&D at Lucent Technologies Denmark from 1989 to 1997. Damsgaard began their career as a Sales Engineer at Lycom (AT&T / NKT Joint Venture) in 1987 and later worked as a Research Engineer at NKT (NKT Holding A/S) from 1981 to 1986.

Hans Damsgaard holds a Bachelor's Degree in International Business from Copenhagen Business School, which they obtained from 1984 to 1987. Prior to that, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Optical Fibers from DTU - Technical University of Denmark, completing it from 1981 to 1984. Hans began their educational journey with a Master's Degree in Atomic Physics from Aarhus University between 1975 and 1981.
