Diya Beesoondoyal is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Assistant Parliamentary Counsel at the Attorney General's Office since January 2016, with prior roles as Principal State Counsel and Senior State Counsel. From May 2013 to January 2016, Diya worked as a Senior District Magistrate for The Judiciary. Additionally, Diya was a Legal Officer in the Justice Section of the Rule of Law Division at The Commonwealth Secretariat from June 2013 to December 2014. Diya's career began at the Attorney General's Office in Mauritius, serving as State Counsel from January 2006 to 2013. Diya holds a Master’s Degree in International Business Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the same institution, with further education completed at the Inns of Court School of Law, City University, London.
