Holly Francois

Holly Francois has extensive experience in the field of speech processing and machine learning. Holly is currently working as the Principal of Data Innovation (Machine Learning) at Ofcom since November 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Samsung Electronics from 2013 to 2021, holding the positions of Senior Technology Manager and Principal Research Engineer. In these roles, they led research teams and managed various projects related to deep learning for expressive speech synthesis, speech enhancement, and audio processing. Before joining Samsung, Holly worked as a Senior Research Engineer at Motorola Mobility Ltd from 2008 to 2013, contributing to the development of speech codecs. Holly also worked as a Research Engineer at Motorola Ltd from 2000 to 2008, leading projects on noise suppression algorithms for mobile phones and radio handsets. In addition, they have experience as a Part-time Lecturer at Imperial College London and an Associate Lecturer at the University of Surrey. Holly Francois is an accomplished professional in the field of speech processing and machine learning, with a strong background in research, team management, and project coordination.

Holly Francois completed their education at the University of Surrey, where they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 1991 to 1995. Holly further pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Speech Recognition at the same university from 1995 to 1999.
