Mathias Cormann

Secretary General at OECD

Mathias Cormann serves as the Secretary General at the OECD since June 2021, bringing extensive political experience from the Commonwealth Parliament of Australia, where notable roles included Leader of the Government in the Senate and Minister for Finance from June 2007 to November 2020. Prior to their parliamentary career, Cormann held various managerial positions at HBF, including Acting General Manager and General Manager of Healthguard, from 2003 to 2007, and provided advisory roles within the Australian Federal Government and the Western Australian Government from 2001 to 2001. Cormann's educational background includes a law degree from Catholic University of Leuven and additional studies at Notre Dame de Namur University.
