Orla Mallon has a range of work experience in various roles and industries. Orla started their career as a Retail Assistant at Monsoon Accessorize in 2014, where they worked until 2016. In 2018, Orla joined Glasgow Hyperloop as an Aerodynamics Engineer and worked there until 2020. During this time, they also took on the role of Brand Representative at Glasgow University Charity Fashion Show (GUCFS) from 2018 to 2019. In 2019, they had an internship as a Rocket Propulsion Intern at Thales for a period of three months. Orla's most recent position is a Design and Development Engineer at Odqa Renewable Energy Technologies, which they started in 2021. Overall, they have gained experience in graphic design, engineering, retail, and brand representation throughout their career.

Orla Mallon pursued their education in the field of engineering. In 2016, they enrolled at the University of Glasgow to study Aeronautical Engineering, specializing in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering. Orla completed their degree in 2020. Following this, Orla Mallon furthered their education at the University of Strathclyde, where they pursued a degree in Design Engineering with Sustainability, specializing in Engineering Design. Orla attended the University of Strathclyde from 2020 to 2021.
