Dr. Sarah Russell-Smith is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in sustainability and energy. Currently serving as the Head of Flexibility for North America at Octopus Energy since August 2024, Dr. Russell-Smith previously held the position of Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer at Amber Electric from February 2021 to August 2024. Earlier career roles include Project Leader at The Boston Consulting Group, Strategic Projects Manager in Environmental Finance at WWF, and Graduate Student Researcher at Stanford University. Dr. Russell-Smith holds a Ph.D. and a Master's Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from Skidmore College. Additional roles have included sustainability consulting at Webcor Builders and software engineering at Kollmorgen Electro-Optical.
