Zach Newman is a co-founder of Octave Photonics, a Boulder, CO-based research-driven company focused on the fabrication and packaging of nonlinear nanophotonic components since January 2019. Prior to this, Zach served as a postdoctoral researcher at the National Institute of Standards and Technology from June 2016 to June 2021, specializing in compact optical atomic clocks and integrated photonics. Academic experience includes research assistant roles at the University of Arizona, where projects involved Bose-Einstein condensation experiments with 87-Rb, and at Case Western Reserve University, concentrating on scanning tunneling microscopy in an ultra-high vacuum environment. Zach holds a PhD and an MS in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona and a BS in Physics from Case Western Reserve University.
