Diane Dickel has extensive experience in the field of genomics. Currently, they are the Head of Functional Genomics at Octant since January 2022. Prior to this, Diane worked as a Staff Scientist at Berkeley Lab for over a decade, where they led a research lab focused on mouse genome engineering and genomics technologies. They have a PhD in Genome Sciences from the University of Washington, where they studied the role of transcribed microsatellite repeat variation in schizophrenia and primate evolution. Diane's expertise also includes management, mentoring, and securing significant grant funding.
