Dave Trotter has held various roles in the tech industry since 1997. In 1997, they began working as a Software Engineer at IBM, where they designed and implemented Operating System software on the IBM ISeries server. From 2003 to 2006, they were a Resident Project Representative at Yaggy Colby Associates, Inc, where they coordinated construction phases of residential and commercial land development projects, reviewed project construction plans, and managed all databases, plan sets, and permanent record-keeping for project data. From 2006 to 2015, they worked as an Engineering Technician and Engineering at the City of Rochester, MN, where they coordinated construction phase activity for public infrastructure, reviewed project construction plans during design phase, and created and administrated project databases and related software programs. In 2015, they joined IBM again, this time as a Technical Sales - Data & AI Americas Technical Specialist. In this role, they were a solution-focused technical seller, with experience in IBM's Db2 and Analytics offerings. In 2022, they will begin working as a Senior Big Data Engineer at Ocient.

Dave Trotter has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering and Physics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dave also has experience in Land Surveying from St. Cloud State University. Dave holds numerous certifications from IBM, including IBM Redbooks Silver Author, Cloud Core, Containers & Kubernetes Essentials, IBM Garage Essentials, IBM Cloud Pak for Data V3.0.x Essentials, IBM Cloud Pak for Data V2.5.x Essentials, IBM Demos Fundamentals, Virtual Selling - Foundation, IBM Quantum Conversations, IBM Selling Profession Certification - Level I, Technical Foundation for Sellers, First Patent File, Banking Industry Foundations, Technical Specialist Profession Certification - Level 2, Blockchain for Developers, and IBM Cloud Private Consultant.
