João Melo Alves is an experienced medical professional with a focus on intensive care and emergency medicine. As an Intensive Care Consultant at Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Lisboa Central since October 2018, João has also served as an ACLS and ITLS advanced instructor at Ocean Medical since August 2020. João's extensive experience includes roles in the Medical Emergency Helicopter Service (SHEM) and as a Medical Coordinator at the National Dispatch Center (CODU) with INEM. Additionally, João has worked as an Intensive Care Physician at multiple hospitals, including Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Ocidental and Hospital das Forças Armadas, and previously headed the medical team in the Emergency Department at Hospital da Luz. João's educational background includes a Master Degree in Medicine from Faculdade de Medicina - Universidade do Porto and an Internal Medicine Residency at Hospital da Luz.
