David Simpson has worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Ocean Aero Inc since 2022. Prior to that, they held the roles of Graduate Research Assistant and Undergraduate Research Assistant at MSU's Raspet Flight Research Laboratory from 2020.

David Simpson obtained a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 2021. Additionally, they obtained a Private Aircraft Pilot certification from the FAA in November 2021.
