Gilles Lefebvre has a wealth of experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Gilles is currently working as the Scientific Director at Obsidian Therapeutics since March 2021. Previously, they held the position of Executive Director of Process Development at Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc. from April 2019 to March 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Senior Director of Process Development at Aptevo Therapeutics Inc. from February 2018 to April 2019. Gilles also worked as the Director of Process Development at Aptevo Therapeutics (formerly Emergent Product Development Seattle) from August 2016 to February 2018. Gilles gained significant experience as the Director of Process Development at Emergent BioSolutions (formerly Trubion Pharmaceuticals) from January 2008 to July 2016. Before that, they held the position of Head of Bioprocess Development at Sandoz GmbH from August 2007 to January 2008. Gilles Lefebvre began their career as a Senior Process Development Engineer at Dendreon and later as a Senior Scientist in Cell Culture Development at DSM Biologics, Montreal Canada. Gilles also served as the Director of Process Development at BioSyntech and worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow & Research Officer at NRC Biotechnology Research Institute.

Gilles Lefebvre completed their education history with a PhD in Fermentation Engineering from Technische Universität Graz in 1995. Prior to this, they earned their M.A.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal from 1989 to 1992, and their B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal from 1985 to 1989.
