Oliver Jones currently serves as faculty at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and the Emerson Los Angeles Center, teaching film criticism and experiential learning to undergraduate students. With a robust background in journalism, Oliver has contributed as a film critic for Observer Media since April 2016 and has written for various magazines and websites, including the New York Observer and Maxim, since January 2014. Previously, Oliver worked as a freelance journalist for The Daily Beast from October 2013 to July 2022 and produced content for Yahoo and People Magazine during a tenure that lasted from 2003 to 2016. Oliver holds a BA in Poetry and Media Studies from Hampshire College, earned between 1989 and 1993.
