Seraphim Larsen has extensive work experience in various roles within the technology industry. They started their career as a Technical Publications Supervisor at North Coast Graphics in 1992, where they coordinated the work of contract technical writers, illustrators, and layout editors. They then moved to S-MOS Systems in 1996 and served as a Technical Publications Supervisor, where they directed the technical publications program for standard-product and ASIC semiconductor products.
In 1997, Larsen joined Renaissance Worldwide as a Technical Editor before transitioning to LSI Logic Corp in 1998. At LSI Logic Corp, they worked as a Technical Writer and were responsible for developing and writing various technical documents, as well as automating manual processes using UNIX shell scripts.
In 2003, Larsen joined Intel Corporation and held various roles throughout their tenure. They started as a Technical Writer, where they developed and delivered product documentation, pioneered the adoption of the DITA standard, and improved technical content workflows and tools. Larsen then advanced to roles such as System Analyst / DITA Information Architect, IT Product Manager, and Technical Content and Tools Program Manager, where they led cross-organizational teams and resolved customer problems related to finding and accessing technical content. As an IT Product Owner, they focused on secure content integrations, and as a Release Train Engineer (RTE), they guided Agile development teams and stakeholders to improve practices and deliver solutions.
During their time at Intel, Larsen also pursued independent consulting work under the name "Seraphim Larsen, independent consultant," serving as a Business Strategist from 2019 to 2022. In this role, they provided strategic consulting services.
Most recently, Larsen joined OBD Solutions in 2022 as the Director of Strategic Improvement & Customer Advocacy.
Seraphim Larsen's education history begins in 1985 when they attended UC Irvine for Computer Science, earning no degree. From 1989 to 1992, Seraphim Larsen attended the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Greek & Russian. In 1991, they briefly studied at the Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, focusing on the Russian language.
Additionally, Seraphim Larsen has obtained several certifications in their professional career. In 2019, they received a Certificate of Recognition from the Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization (TOCICO). In 2020, Seraphim Larsen became a Certified SAFe® 5 Program Consultant through Scaled Agile, Inc. In 2016, they obtained the Certified Scrum Product Owner® certification from Scrum Alliance. Seraphim Larsen also holds the Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM) certification, which they obtained in 2014 from Scrum Alliance. Lastly, in 2018, they obtained the Certified SAFe® 4 Agilist certification from Scaled Agile, Inc.
