Ed B. has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Ed started their career at The Bodleian Library, University of Oxford, where they worked as a Graduate Trainee, Bookstack Assistant, Library Assistant, and later as a Senior Library Assistant. During their time there, they took on additional roles such as working on the EASEL Project and data migration to a new Library Management System.

After that, Ed joined the University of Oxford as a Functional Analyst and later took on the role of Functional Developer/Technical Analyst. Ed was responsible for specification, testing, and delivery of enhancements to graduate admissions functionality and acted as the main point of contact for third-party suppliers.

Following their work at the University, Ed moved to Experian, where they worked as a Senior QA Analyst and later as a Lead QA Analyst. Ed played a crucial role in managing and leading testing efforts for large-scale projects and pioneered a follow-the-sun approach within the QA team.

Currently, Ed is working at Oakbrook, where they have held various leadership positions. Ed started as a QA Manager, responsible for identifying and leading QA initiatives and creating test plans for significant features. Ed then progressed to become the Head of Assurance & Risk, where they oversaw risk management activities. Later, their role expanded to incorporate leadership of Oakbrook's IT and Security Operations teams, and they were elevated to the senior leadership team. Currently, Ed is the Head of Data Management, Risk & Assurance, where they have formed an enterprise data vision, recruited and managed a team of data engineers, and contributed to executive meetings.

Ed B. completed their education with a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Information Science from UCL, which they attended from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (MA) degree in Mathematics & Philosophy from the University of Oxford, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Before entering university, Ed completed their secondary education at Greenhead College between 1999 and 2001. In addition to their formal education, Ed obtained several certifications, including the Intermediate Certificate in Software Testing from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in October 2013, the Foundation Certificate in SOFTWARE TESTING in November 2011, and the Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis in June 2011. Ed also holds the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals in September 2019, and the CIPP/E - Certified Information Privacy Professional (Europe) certification from the same institution in October 2018.
