Mark Maloney is a seasoned professional in the field of auditing and assurance, currently serving as the Assistant Auditor General for Local Government at the Office of the Auditor-General in New Zealand since April 2022. Mark also contributes as a Board Member for the New Zealand Auditing and Assurance Standards Board at the External Reporting Board since July 2021. Mark's experience includes roles such as Independent Member of the Audit and Risk Committee at the Western Bay of Plenty District Council and various positions at Auckland Council, including General Manager of Risk and Assurance. Mark's career began at Audit New Zealand, advancing from Audit Manager to Audit Director. Mark holds a degree in Commerce and Law from The University of Auckland and has foundational education from Rosmini College and St Mary’s Primary School.
