Patrick Healy is the current deputy opinion editor at The New York Times. Patrick has previously worked as a host for NY1 News, a political editor for The Chronicle of Higher Education, and a reporter for the New Hampshire Union Leader and the Foster's Daily Democrat.

Healy began their career in journalism at the Boston Globe Media, where they worked as a political reporter and higher education reporter. Patrick later became a war correspondent, covering Afghanistan, Iraq and Israel.

In 2000, Healy joined The New York Times as a political editor. Patrick later became the host of NYT Close-Up, a position they held until 2013.

Healy has been with The New York Times since 2013 and currently serves as deputy opinion editor.

Patrick Healy received a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Tufts University. Patrick then went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dramatic Writing from New York University.
