Elizabeth Higgins

Chief Technical Operations at NysnoBio

Elizabeth Higgins has extensive experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Elizabeth is currently the Chief Technical Operations at NysnoBio, where they are responsible for strategic planning for IND enabling activities and managing outsourced process development, manufacturing, and analytical development. Elizabeth also supports efforts to secure investor funding. Prior to this, Elizabeth held the position of Vice President and Head of CMC at NysnoBio.

Before joining NysnoBio, Elizabeth worked at Prevail Therapeutics as the Head of CMC and Executive Director of Manufacturing & Analytical Development. In this role, they managed pre-clinical and clinical external manufacturing and supply chain, as well as analytical development and stability studies for Prevail's AAV Gene Therapy products.

Elizabeth also has experience at Voyager Therapeutics, Inc., where they served as the Head of Analytical Sciences & Quality Control. In this role, they were responsible for analytical development and quality control for three AAV gene therapy products, from candidate selection through Phase 3. Elizabeth oversaw internal labs and outsourced analytical work, including method qualification/validation and IND filings.

Prior to joining Voyager Therapeutics, Elizabeth worked at GE Healthcare as the Site Head for Quality Control and Analytical Development. Elizabeth started their career as the Founder & CEO of GlycoSolutions Corporation, a CRO focused on assay development and supporting process development work, specializing in glycosylation, protein chemistry, and carbohydrate/polysaccharide analysis.

Elizabeth's career began at Genzyme Corporation, where they worked as a Group Leader. Their responsibilities at Genzyme included carbohydrate analysis of therapeutic glycoproteins, characterization work for regulatory filings, and the development of release assays. Elizabeth also conducted degradation pathway studies, prepared comparability reports, and wrote CMC sections.

Elizabeth Higgins completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics/Biochemistry at the University of Guelph from 1982 to 1986. Elizabeth then pursued their Ph.D. in Medical Genetics at the University of Toronto from 1986 to 1991. Continuing their educational journey, Elizabeth obtained an MBA degree in General Business from the Questrom School of Business at Boston University from 1992 to 1999.
