Álvaro Manera has a diverse range of work experience in the technology industry. Álvaro is currently working as the Chief Technology Officer at NXT:FWD since February 2023. Prior to this role, they worked at CARTO as the Director of Engineering from October 2019 to March 2023. Álvaro was also the Head of Engineering/ Tech Lead at FWD from October 2014 to October 2019, where they played a crucial role in defining the product and building a team. Before this, they worked at Pryte as a Senior Software Engineer from September 2013 to June 2014, where they contributed to the development of a solution for selling data per application. Álvaro also co-founded LivLiv Solutions in July 2012 and served as the Co-Founder and CTO until September 2013. At Nokia, Álvaro held multiple roles including Senior Architect from September 2011 to July 2012 and Software Architect from October 2008 to September 2011. Prior to that, they worked at Infoglobal as a Software Developer from April 2006 to July 2008 and at NetProyectos as a Software Developer from June 2004 to March 2006. Álvaro's earlier experience includes working as a Researcher at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid from September 2002 to January 2004, where they focused on self-location of a robot using artificial vision. Álvaro began their career as a Software Developer and Web Designer at Advernet - OZU from 1997 to 1999.
