Sepp Hochreiter is a prominent academic in the fields of machine learning and artificial intelligence, currently serving as a Professor and the head of the Institute of Machine Learning at Johannes Kepler Universität Linz since February 2006. Hochreiter has also held positions as the head of the Institute of Bioinformatics and as the Director of the ELLIS Unit LINZ. Additionally, Hochreiter is the Chief Scientist at NXAI and leads the Artificial Intelligence Lab at the Linz Institute of Technology. Previous experience includes roles as Assistant Professor at Technische Universität Berlin and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Colorado at Boulder, as well as a Research Scientist at Technische Universität München. Hochreiter holds a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning and an MSc in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich.
