Thom van Harten has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Thom is currently working as an Application Engineer at NX Filtration since May 2022. Prior to that, Thom worked at Rijkswaterstaat as a Process Consultant from July 2020 to May 2022.

In 2018, Thom held the position of Chairman Of The Board at SAB - Study association of ITC, where they oversaw day-to-day operations and guided the association towards sustainability.

Thom also gained experience as a Student Assistant at Pre-U / University of Twente from September 2016 to May 2019. Additionally, they worked as a Student Assistant and a member of the Open Days Team Mechanical Engineering at the University of Twente from December 2018 to March 2019 and from November 2015 to November 2018, respectively.

In 2016, Thom served as the Secretary General of WOT Utwente, a small student organization at the University of Twente.

Thom van Harten completed their education in a chronological order. Thom first attended the University of Twente from 2015 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science in Engineering with a specialization in Spatial Engineering at the University of Twente from 2018 to 2020.

Additionally, Thom obtained several certifications outside of their formal education. Thom completed the "Coaching Skills for Managers" course offered by Coursera in December 2020. In May 2018, they completed the "Maps and the Geospatial Revolution" course. In April 2017, they obtained the certification for the "Strategic Innovation Toolkit for Managers" course. Thom also completed the "Building Your Leadership Skills" course in October 2016. In July 2016, they attended the Katowice Entrepreneurship Academy of Video Games organized by the University of Economics in Katowice. Prior to this, Thom completed the "Leading People and Teams Specialization" course and the "Innovation for Entrepreneurs: From Idea to Marketplace" course in May and September 2016 respectively. Lastly, in September 2015, Thom obtained the certification for the "New Venture Finance: Startup Funding for Entrepreneurs" course.
