Dr. med. vet. Burkhard Flick has extensive work experience in the field of toxicology and laboratory management. Dr. med. vet. Burkhard currently holds the position of Head of Toxicology at Nuvisan since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at BASF for several years, where they served as Head of Laboratory Mechanistic Toxicology and Head of In vivo Screening at the Experimental Toxicology and Ecology department. Dr. med. vet. Burkhard also worked as a Scientific Assistant in the Reproduction Toxicology Laboratory at the same company. Before joining BASF, Dr. Flick worked at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin as a Project and Laboratory Manager. Dr. med. vet. Burkhard also held the position of Project and Laboratory Manager in the research and development department at Biochrom AG in Berlin. Additionally, they worked part-time as the Methods Manager of Alternative Methods to Animal Testing at Mediport Biotech GmbH. Dr. Flick began their career as a Researcher at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at Benjamin Franklin – University Medical School.

Dr. med. vet. Burkhard Flick's education history is as follows:

From 1993 to 2000, they attended Freie Universität Berlin, where they obtained a degree in Veterinary Medicine. During this time, they also received a State Examination/License to practice veterinary medicine.

From 2000 to 2006, they studied at the Institute for Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Freie Universität Berlin. Dr. med. vet. Burkhard obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with a field of study in In vitro Embryotoxicity.

In 2006, Dr. Flick enrolled in the Ashcroft International Business School at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK, as well as the Institute of Management Berlin (IMB), School of Economics in Berlin. Dr. med. vet. Burkhard pursued a part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in General Management, leading to a Dual Award.

Dr. med. vet. Burkhard completed their MBA from the Ashcroft International Business School and the Institute of Management Berlin in 2008.
