Qi Gong has a strong background in biostatistics with work experience at various companies. They are currently serving as the Associate Director of Biostatistics at Nuvation Bio since March 2022. Prior to this, Qi Gong worked at Gilead Sciences as a Senior Biostatistician from January 2015 to February 2022. They also held the position of Biostatistics Manager at Amgen from July 2012 to December 2014, supporting Phase II clinical trials and providing consultation for GHE studies. Qi Gong gained early experience as a Biostatistics Summer Intern at Genentech in 2010, where they worked on developing estimation methods and analysis procedures for survival and safety data. Their career started as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Department of Statistics, from September 2005 to April 2007, focusing on developing estimation methods and modifying algorithms for longitudinal data.

Qi Gong earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Fudan University in 2004. They then pursued a Master's degree in Statistics at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 2004 to 2007. Qi Gong later obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan between 2007 and 2012.
