Mikel Larson has extensive work experience in the field of sensor engineering and research. Mikel currently serves as the Lead Sensor Engineer at Nutromics, a position they have held since November 2021. Prior to this, Mikel founded HydroLabs in August 2020.
Mikel also has a significant tenure at Eccrine Systems, Inc., where they held multiple roles. From July 2016 to April 2020, they served as the Lead Sensor Engineer, leading the development of biosensors for analytes in sweat and managing a multidisciplinary team. From June 2014 to July 2016, Mikel worked as a Biomedical Research Engineer, contributing to research, documentation, and development of bio-influenced sensor systems.
Before joining Eccrine Systems, Mikel worked as a Research Engineer at Wright State Research Institute from January 2014 to May 2015. Mikel also had a research internship at AFRL's Discovery Lab from January 2013 to December 2013. During this internship, Mikel led a team in utilizing technology for robotics control, created website content, and developed an AI for automating student report evaluation.
Mikel Larson's education history includes completing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomedical Engineering at Wright State University from 2011 to 2015. Following this, Mikel pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati from 2015 to 2016. However, the PhD degree remains incomplete as no information regarding a completion date has been provided.
