Justin Sousa

DevOps Engineer / Co-Founder at Numerated

Justin Sousa has a diverse range of work experience starting from their undergraduate education. Justin began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Ithaca College, where they worked on a project to design a constant speed motor. After completing their undergraduate studies, they joined MIT Lincoln Laboratory as a Facilities Assistant and later worked as a Research Assistant at MIT Haystack Observatory.

In 2011, Justin joined the University of Massachusetts Lowell as a Graduate Research Assistant and also served as a Teaching Assistant. Justin then worked as a Summer Researcher at the Air Force Research Laboratory in 2012.

Justin's professional career started in 2013 when they joined Exa Corporation as an Application Engineer. There, they worked on computational aerodynamic and thermal studies for commercial heavy vehicles, collaborating directly with customers and presenting simulation results. Justin later joined Affectiva as an Integration Engineer, primarily working on the Customer Success team, where they provided feedback to the development and project management teams and implemented solutions for customers.

In 2015, Justin joined Eastern Labs - Eastern Bank as a Software Engineer, where they focused on creating new technologies using banking data and digital assets for experimentation.

Most recently, Justin co-founded Numerated in 2017, a fast-growing Fintech SaaS company, where they served as a DevOps Engineer/Co-Founder.

Justin Sousa obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Ithaca College from 2005 to 2009. Justin then pursued further education and earned a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell from 2011 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, Justin Sousa also obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera in April 2015.
