Michael D. has over 15 years of work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. In 2021, they began working as the Associate Director of Assay Development at Nucleix Ltd., a company that develops non-invasive cancer molecular diagnostic tests. From 2018 to 2021, they worked as a Senior Scientist and Manager at 10X Genomics, a company that enables single-cell NGS. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Senior Scientist and Manager at Asuragen Inc., a molecular diagnostics subsidiary. From 2012 to 2015, they were a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Medical Oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where they conducted translational oncology research. From 2006 to 2012, they were a Research Associate in Preclinical Drug Development at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, where they discovered the first small molecules capable of targeting Porcupine. From 2004 to 2006, they worked as a Chemical Formulator and GMP & IP Reviewer at Pace Analytical at 3M.
Michael D. began their educational journey by obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. Michael then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell Regulation from UT Southwestern Medical Center, which they completed in 2011. Afterward, Michael D. became a Research Fellow in Medicine in Oncology at Harvard Medical School, which they completed in 2015. Michael also obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in October 2017.
