Arya Tavakoli is the Co-Founder & Head of Laboratory Operations at Nomic Bio since September 2018. Prior to that, they worked at BOMBARDIER as an Aircraft Economics Analyst from June 2012 to December 2014. In this role, they produced and maintained statistical models and databases to predict and understand the Direct Maintenance Cost (DMC) of CSeries operators. Arya also dealt with supplier issues and contractual negotiations related to DMC. Before BOMBARDIER, Arya worked as a Junior Reliability & Safety Engineer at Pratt & Whitney Canada within Aviya Aerospace Systems from November 2011 to April 2012. Arya'sresponsibilities included preparing Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) for the failures of the Data Collecting Unit (DCU) mounted on the PW210 engine series. Arya also contributed to engine certification reports presented to Transport Canada. Arya Tavakoli began their career with a role at McGill University in March 2010, where they worked on an Engine Compressor Blade Design Project under the supervision of Prof. Wagdi Habashi. Arya'swork involved using CFD algorithms to compile a Matlab code that analyzed quasi-3D compressible airflow through an engine compressor and interpreted the results.
Arya Tavakoli completed a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University between 2006 and 2010. Currently, they are pursuing a Master's degree in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from McGill University, with a start date of 2015 and an ongoing status.
