Laura Curiel has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Laura is currently working as an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary since July 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Assistant Professor at the same institution from January 2018 to July 2022.
In 2020, Laura co-founded NovusTX Devices and continues to actively contribute to the company.
Before joining the University of Calgary, Laura served as an Adjunct Professor at Lakehead University from September 2008. Laura later transitioned to the role of Assistant Professor from August 2015 to December 2017.
Laura has also contributed to the field as a Reviewer for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology since 2004. Additionally, they worked as a Scientist at Thunder Bay Regional Health Research Institute from April 2008 to December 2017.
Laura'searlier work experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellow position at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre from February 2006 to February 2008, and at INSERM from January 2002 to August 2006.
Laura began their career as a Student at INSERM from 1997 to 2001 and worked as an Analyst at Softtek from January 1996 to March 1997.
Laura Curiel's education history includes a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronic Systems, with a focus on Digital Electronics and Software, which they obtained from Tecnológico de Monterrey. Laura attended this institution from 1990 to 1995.
After completing their bachelor's degree, Laura pursued a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 from 1997 to 1998.
Subsequently, they furthered their education at INSA Lyon - Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon, where they completed their doctorate in Imaging and Systems from 1998 to 2001.
