Nik Hengel has extensive work experience in marketing and analytics. They are currently serving as the Vice President of Localytics at Novus Media LLC since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Marketing Sciences at Novus Media LLC from August 2018 to June 2020. Before joining Novus Media LLC, they held the position of Director of Digital Marketing Analytics at maurices from September 2016 to August 2018. Their early career includes a role as a Marketing Analyst at Sensory Logic from January 2007 to May 2007 and a marketing intern position at GovDocs, Inc. from June 2005 to January 2007.

Nik Hengel pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Marketing from the University of Minnesota, from 2003 to 2007. In addition to their formal education, they obtained two certifications: one in R Programming and another in The Data Scientist's Toolbox, both from Coursera Course Certificates. The R Programming certification was obtained in May 2016, while The Data Scientist's Toolbox certification was obtained in January 2016.
