Marcela Ledezma has a diverse work experience in the field of business development, digital transformation, and e-commerce.
Marcela currently works at NovoPayment as the Sr. Director of Business Development, a position they have held since February 2022.
Prior to this, Marcela worked at Esolutionscr as a Digital Transformation, E-commerce & Fintech Consultant starting in January 2006.
From December 2020 to February 2022, they held the role of Strategic Payments Partnerships Manager for Central America at EBANX. In this position, they collaborated in expanding EBANX's operations in Central America and the Caribbean, opening operations in Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic.
Marcela also served as the Commercial Director at FT Technologies from February 2019 to February 2020.
Between May 2015 and February 2019, they worked as the Regional e-Commerce Manager at Grupo Monge, where they were responsible for designing, creating, and executing the digital transformation of one of the largest retail companies in the Central America region. Marcela played a key role in creating an online platform called www.TiendaMonge.
Marcela's experience also includes working at PayPal from May 2012 to June 2015, first as a Business Development Specialist focused on Costa Rica, Central America, and the Caribbean. Later on, they took on the role of Partner Program Manager at PayPal.
Marcela began their career at Banco Nacional de Costa Rica in January 2006, where they served as the Head of E-commerce. In this role, they led strategic initiatives to expand the bank's e-commerce platform and increase business and revenue through partnerships, mergers, and organic growth. Marcela also spearheaded a strategic alliance and business with PayPal to create a new product that opened opportunities for millions of consumers and merchants across multiple markets.
Marcela's early career includes a role as the E-commerce Manager at Citi Group from January 2004 to December 2006. In this role, they were responsible for integrating e-commerce programs and creating global policies for online payment channels, which increased participation and revenue for Citigroup.

From 2007 to 2009, they attended Universidad para la Cooperación Internacional, where they obtained a Master's degree in Project Administration with a focus on Projects.
In 2005 and 2006, Marcela studied at ULACIT, earning a Bachelor's degree in International Business, specializing in International Business.
Earlier, from 2002 to 2004, they attended Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and earned a Bachelor's degree in International Relationships.
Marcela also obtained several additional certifications throughout their educational journey. In 2011, they completed the Formation Program in Market Oriented on Practice in Innovation, offered by the Minister of Science and Technology (MICIT), University of Leipzig, Germany, and the National Technical University.
In 2010, they obtained a certification in Database Administration & e-Commerce from NIIT's Corporate Learning Solutions.
In 2009, Marcela completed the Innovation in Virtual Education program offered by Monterrey Tech Virtual University in collaboration with the Virtual Education (OEA) and the American Distance Education Consortium (ADEC).
In 2008, they obtained a certification in Digital Patriotism from the Inter-American University Organization (OU), School of the Americas (COLAM), Inter-American Net Electronic Government Formation (RIF-GE), Investigation and Training Center in Public Administration (CICAP), and the Private Technical University of Loja.
Also in 2008, they earned a certification in Digital Government from the Inter-American University Organization (OU), School of The Americas (COLAM), Inter-American Net Electronic Government Formation (RIF-GE), Investigation, and Training Center in Public Administration (CICAP), and the Private Technical University of Loja.
Furthermore, in 2007, Marcela completed a certification in Electronic Government Strategies offered by the Organization of American States (OEA).
In terms of e-commerce, they obtained two certifications. In 2006, they completed the E-Commerce Best Practices certification from MasterCard Worldwide, and in the same year, they obtained another E-Commerce Best Practices certification from Visa Internacional.
Lastly, in 2005, Marcela acquired a certification in Training Verifika - MPI y ACS from Alignet.
