Desmond Chin is an experienced professional in the field of rare disease research and drug discovery, currently serving as Associate Director of Rare Disease Research at Novo Nordisk since October 2022. With a robust background that includes positions as Associate Director of Translational Science at Forma Therapeutics and multiple roles at Carmine Therapeutics, including Associate Director and Principal Scientist in Discovery, Desmond has successfully led interdisciplinary research teams and managed significant project budgets. Desmond’s earlier experience includes a Research Fellowship at the Genome Institute of Singapore, where research on thrombopoietin contributed to published findings, and a Postdoctoral Researcher role at Karolinska Institutet that involved developing a novel DNA sequencing platform. An academic foundation is established with a PhD in Cancer Biology from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from Nanyang Technological University.
