Marg Suarez is a skilled professional in the elevator industry with extensive experience as both an elevator mechanic and educator. Currently serving as a NYS Elevator Continuing Education Training Instructor with the Joint Apprentice and Training Committee of the Elevator Industry, Suarez designs curriculum and instructs journey-level elevator mechanics on vital topics including code changes and safety standards. With a career starting in 2004 at Nouveau Elevator, responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining a diverse array of elevator systems. Additional roles include curriculum development and instruction for apprentices, ownership of NYC MeshWorks LLC providing consulting services for community networks, and active volunteer work with NYC Mesh. A foundation in women's and gender studies, as well as computer science, is complemented by a history of advocacy for women in non-traditional occupations, demonstrated through roles such as the WANTO Grant Coordinator for Nontraditional Employment for Women.
