Joshua Brandau has a diverse work history spanning various roles in the marketing and advertising industry. Joshua is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Nota since July 2022. From July 2016 to July 2018, Joshua served as the Head of Strategy, North America at Essence. During their tenure, they oversaw over $1 billion in overall N.A. media spend and led Communication and Creative Strategy groups across multiple offices.

Prior to Essence, Joshua held the position of Vice President of Communications Strategy at Pereira & O'Dell from April 2009 to July 2016. Joshua built and oversaw the Strategy practice, working with clients such as Skype, Intel + Dell, Hyatt Regency Global, Kellogg's, and more.

Joshua also founded CONNECT in August 2011 and served as the Founder until June 2016. Additionally, they worked as a Professor at the Academy of Art University from September 2009 to September 2012.

Earlier in their career, Joshua held roles such as Media Supervisor at Fallon from April 2008 to April 2009, Communications Strategist at Venables Bell and Partners from July 2006 to April 2008, and Copywriter at BMI from November 2003 to May 2005.

Joshua Brandau has a diverse educational background. Joshua has a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Philosophy from Florida State University, although the specific start and end years are unknown. Joshua later pursued a Master's degree in Communication and Media Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, completing it between 2004 and 2006.
