Makaine Lozandieu is an experienced School Counselor currently serving the School District of Philadelphia since August 2023, promoting the academic, social, and career development of approximately 450 K-4 students. Prior to this role, Makaine served as a School Counselor at Northwood Academy Charter School from October 2019 to August 2023 and at Philadelphia Performing Arts: A String Theory Charter School from September 2014 to August 2019, where counseling programs were designed for academic and socioemotional growth of K-4 students. Earlier experience includes a Program Manager position at City Year Philadelphia, overseeing AmeriCorps tutors, and mentoring high school students as a Program Associate at Summer Search. Makaine also held roles as a Resident Coordinator at Temple University and a MATCH Corps Member. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Temple University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston College.
