Jonathan Bailey Holland serves as the Dean of the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University since September 2023 and is also a composition faculty member at the Curtis Institute of Music. With an extensive background in music education, Jonathan has held significant positions including Jack G. Buncher Head of the School of Music at Carnegie Mellon University, Chair of Composition and Contemporary Music at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and founding faculty member of the MFA in Music Composition program at Vermont College of Fine Arts. Additionally, Jonathan has been involved in various roles at the Curtis Institute, including faculty and mentor positions. As a composer since 1990, Jonathan has maintained a self-employed status while previously serving as a Professor of Composition at Berklee College of Music for 16 years. Jonathan holds a PhD in Music from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition from the Curtis Institute of Music.
