Jon Shafer has over a decade of experience in energy management and engineering, currently serving as the Manager of System Innovations at NorthWestern Energy since 2013, where responsibilities include developing and standardizing strategic initiatives. Previous roles include Automation Engineer, focusing on Smart Grid technology, and Partner/Project Manager at PowerHouse-ICS, LLC, specializing in energy audits and efficiency upgrades. Jon has also held the position of Executive Director at Northern Rocky Mountain RC&D, promoting sustainable practices and resource conservation, and was the Owner and Project Manager of Shafer Consulting, LLC, integrating sustainability into property development. Early career experience includes product development at AMI Semiconductor. Educational credentials include an MBA from the University of Montana and a BA in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University-Bozeman.
