Samer Khalil, FRCPC, currently serves as the Staff Psychiatrist and Chief of Psychiatry at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre since June 2018, while also holding the position of Site Director of the Psychiatry Program and Assistant Professor at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine since August 2021. Previous experience includes roles as Consultant Psychiatrist at St. Joseph's Care Group and Consultant Psychiatrist in the Community Mental Health Team and Rehabilitation Service at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Samer Khalil commenced professional training with positions at both Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust as a Psychiatry Specialty Trainee, as well as earlier training at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Samer Khalil holds a Master of Medical Sciences in Clinical Psychiatry from the University of Leeds and an MB ChB in Medicine from the University of Baghdad.
