Leah Andersen

Leah Andersen is a dedicated special education teacher at Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate School District since October 2016, where responsibilities include creating and implementing programs for K-8th grade special education students and managing behavior through appropriate interventions. Previous roles include serving as a Signing Education Assistant, facilitating communication for special education students, and working at YMCA Camp St. Croix in various capacities, including Overnight Camp Assistant Director and Outdoor Educator, where skills in administration and program planning were honed. Leah also gained experience as an Education Intern at the Minnesota Zoo Foundation, teaching and facilitating classes for children. Leah holds a Master’s degree in Special Education and Teaching from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor’s degree in Outdoor Education from the University of Minnesota Duluth.
