Alexander Vasilyev currently serves as the VP of Finance at North Star BlueScope Steel, a position held since February 2023. Prior to this role, Alexander held significant leadership positions, including Vice President Operations at Ardagh Group, overseeing safety, quality, and operations for multiple plants. At EVRAZ North America, responsibilities included serving as CFO for a major steel producer and Vice President of Finance, focusing on financial planning, analysis, and restructuring. Earlier experiences include roles at Evraz Group SA as Financial Controller and at Uralsib Private Equity Fund as Senior Analyst during the restructuring of distressed assets. Alexander began a career in finance with Deloitte & Touche CIS and KPMG, specializing in financial due diligence and auditing. An educational foundation in Economics was established with a Bachelor’s degree from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia.
