Haley Plaas is an accomplished researcher and intern with extensive experience in marine science and environmental research. Currently serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science since April 2017, Haley has designed and conducted a senior thesis project on cyanotoxin aerosols and is leading Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) toxin analyses related to recent South Florida cyanobacterial blooms. Additionally, Haley has been an Environmental Health Intern at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium since May 2018 and previously worked as a Field Research and Environmental Education Intern at Cape Ann Whale Watch, where education on marine conservation and whale behavior assessment were key responsibilities. Haley earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Sciences from the University of Miami and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Science and Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
