Bruce Mildwurf has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Bruce began their career as a News Reporter/Anchor at KIDK in 1998, before moving on to become a Reporter/Fill in Anchor at Local15 | WPMI-TV in 1999. In 2007, they joined WRAL-TV as an Anchor/Reporter, where they excelled in reporting live from the field and studio, conducting interviews, and producing investigative stories that influenced the creation of new state laws and policies. In 2014, they transitioned to the North Carolina School Boards Association, initially as an Associate Director of Government Relations, and later taking on the role of Director of Government Relations. In their current position, they are responsible for influencing legislative initiatives that impact the NCSBA's member institutions, tracking and analyzing legislation, conducting research, and developing policy positions and effective advocacy strategies. In addition to their work at the NCSBA, they also represent the North Carolina Council of School Attorneys (NCCOSA) since 2019. Throughout their career, Bruce has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service and community engagement, often volunteering at events and participating in speaking engagements.
