Kristin Miai Birkeland

Global Talent Acquisition Partner at Norges Bank Investment Management

Kristin Miai Birkeland has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Kristin Miai started their career in 2004 as an HR Business Partner at Canon Norge as, where they were responsible for recruitment across different business groups. From 2005 to 2006, they worked as an Account Manager at Ajilon, delivering recruitment services to large corporations in Norway.

In 2006, Kristin joined Adecco as a Sourcing Manager, where they managed sourcing activities. Kristin Miai then moved to Opera in 2008, taking on the role of Head of Global Recruitment. At Opera, they built a recruitment team that served different offices across the US, Europe, and Asia.

From 2011 to 2015, Kristin worked as a Technical Recruiter at Microsoft, responsible for recruitment activities for the Microsoft Development Center in Norway and the European Development Centre in Ireland. Following this role, they joined Shortcut AS as an HR Manager in 2016.

Also in 2016, Kristin became a Senior Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Consultant at Microsoft, where they were responsible for talent acquisition assignments in several European countries. Kristin Miai provided consultation to hiring managers on various recruitment and HR matters.

In 2017, Kristin joined DNB as a Senior Advisor - Tech Recruiter, working closely with the Chief Data Officer and associated data stakeholders to execute the data strategy. Kristin Miai later became a Business Manager in New Business, Data, supporting the Chief Data Officer and management team in prioritizing and planning strategic priorities.

In 2019, Kristin moved to Telenor as the Head of Recruitment, leading a team of eight recruiters and external vendors while supporting recruitment and employee branding activities. Most recently, starting in February 2022, they joined Norges Bank Investment Management as a Global Talent Acquisition Partner, involved in executive search and selection, strategic consulting, and vendor management.

With their extensive experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, and HR management, Kristin Miai Birkeland has demonstrated their ability to drive recruitment initiatives, manage teams, and support strategic priorities within various organizations.

Kristin Miai Birkeland completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts in International Management from an undisclosed institution between 1993 and 1997. Prior to that, they attended Røyken VGS from 1987 to 1991, where they pursued the Samfunnsfaglinjen degree program, focusing on Social Sciences and Languages. Additionally, they obtained certifications in "Developing Managers in Organizations" from LinkedIn in February 2020 and "Mentoring Others" from LinkedIn in March 2019.
