Fredrik Vaaland Fusdahl

Associate Portfolio Manager at Norges Bank Investment Management

Fredrik Vaaland Fusdahl has a diverse work experience starting in 2018. Fredrik Vaaland began their career as a Teaching Assistant in Financial Econometrics at Handelshøyskolen BI from August to December 2018. In the same year, they also worked as a Part-time Employee in the Ski and Outdoor Department at Platou Sport AS.

From 2018 to 2021, Fredrik had a Student Internship in the Policy and Analysis unit at Norges Bank. During this time, they gained valuable experience in the field.

In 2019, Fredrik participated in the NFI Summer School program organized by Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM). The program aimed to identify talented students in financial economics and motivate them to consider a PhD and academic career. Fredrik Vaaland attended lectures by renowned scholars and gained knowledge in asset pricing and empirical corporate finance.

From June to August 2021, Fredrik worked as a Summer Intern in Fixed Income at Norges Bank Investment Management. This internship provided him with practical experience in the field.

Continuing their career progression, Fredrik joined Norges Bank Investment Management in November 2021. Fredrik Vaaland initially worked as an Associate in the Fixed Income North America team. Later, they transitioned to the role of Associate Portfolio Manager, starting in June 2023. Currently, they hold this position, contributing to the management of investment portfolios.

Fredrik Vaaland Fusdahl completed their Master of Science degree in Quantitative Finance from BI Norwegian Business School in the years 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the same institution between 2016 and 2019. Fredrik also attended the University of Oslo (UiO) from 2018 to 2021, although there is no specified degree or field of study associated with this period. Additionally, they briefly studied Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley in 2019.
