Faraaz Ismail is the current Engineering Manager at NoRedInk. Prior to this, they were the Software Engineering Manager at KindHealth from August 2018 to January 2022.

Under Ismail's leadership, the KindHealth team grew from 4 frontend/backend/data engineers to 10, with Ismail being involved in hiring 12 engineers and growing 2 to tech leads. During their time at KindHealth, they worked with their team to develop engineering practices that led to a reduction in mean time to resolve (MTTR) by over 50%, reducing time spent firefighting during the company's busy season by 300%, and improving deployment frequency by over 5x.

Ismail was also instrumental in maturing the Engineering organization as the first Engineering Manager through creating effective remote and Agile processes, including hiring focused on adding diversity, onboarding/offboarding, and planning cycle. Faraaz improved the planning and estimation process with decomposition, architecture reviews, and upfront design documentation to remove single points of failure, reducing rework being done, and obtaining more clarity for team members involved.

During several phases of org redesigns and shifts in technical executive leadership, Ismail maintained execution and morale by maintaining deployment frequency, successfully onboarding new engineers/EM/VPs of Engineering, and delivering value to customers.

Finally, they led their team to operationalize ETL processes using Node.js, Python, Keboola, AWS Lambda, PostgreSQL, Salesforce, Snowflake, ReactJS, and Zapier to enable 2 additional product offerings and tie together data updates from over 10 different data sources. This resulted in 20% of sales and more than 50% reduction in time to get accurate data visibility.
