David Funaro has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of research and development, specifically in the confectionery, snacks, and food production industries. David started their career as the Director of Operations at Norman Love Confections in 2002 and then moved on to become the Executive Pastry Chef at CRü in 2006. David later worked as the Director of Operations at FoodNerds Inc before joining Godiva Chocolatier as the Global Senior Chef Chocolatier in 2007, where they stayed until 2014. Following that, they worked as an independent consultant and owner of Global Palate Concepts, specializing in innovation in chocolate, confections, pastry, and beverages from 2014 to 2016.
