Daniel Hoagland

Daniel Hoagland has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Starting in 2003, they worked as a Supervisor at Starbucks until 2008. In 2008, they briefly served as a Program Manager for Boston Bikes at the City of Boston. Daniel then worked as a Lecturer at Tufts University from August to December 2007.

Moving forward, Hoagland took on the role of a Program Administrator in Community Health at Tufts University from January 2009 to February 2010. At the same time, they also worked as the CitySmart Outreach Coordinator at the City of Cambridge from January 2009 to February 2010.

In 2009, they became a Boston Bicycle Transportation Examiner for Examiner.com, a position they held until December of the same year. Daniel then joined the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) in 2010, where they had various roles. Daniel served as the DC Bike Ambassador Coordinator from March 2010 to May 2012 and as the Education Coordinator from May 2012 to September 2015. Hoagland was subsequently promoted to Programs Director in October 2015, a position they held until September 2018.

Simultaneously, they worked at League of American Bicyclists, starting as a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) in October 2010. Daniel then became a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) Coach in March 2014, coaching and educating individuals on safe riding, navigation, maintenance, and more. Daniel Hoagland also worked as a Consultant for the same organization from October 2018 to June 2019.

In June 2018, they joined Reforge Writing & Editing as a Developmental Editor. Lastly, their most recent position took place at the NoMa Business Improvement District, where they started as the Chief of Staff in January 2020.

Daniel Hoagland has a strong educational background. Daniel earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English from Tufts University, where they attended from 1999 to 2003. Later, they pursued further education at Suffolk University and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Applied Politics, studying from 2005 to 2019. In addition to their formal degrees, Daniel Hoagland has also acquired a certification as a League Cycling Instructor (#3011) from the League of American Bicyclists.
