Eirik Mikkelsen is a Senior Researcher at Nofima since April 2017, specializing in the social and economic dimensions of aquaculture and fisheries, including marine spatial and coastal zone planning. Prior to this, Mikkelsen served as Research Director and Researcher at Norut from September 2000 to March 2017, and was a PhD student at the University of Tromsø from August 2002 to June 2007. Mikkelsen began the professional career as a Senior Executive Officer for International Environmental Cooperation at Fylkesmannen i Finnmark from August 1995 to August 2000. Educational achievements include a Master’s degree in Economics from UiT- The Arctic University of Norway and a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Aeronautics from the University of Southampton.
