Santiago Gimeno has over 17 years of work experience in software development and engineering. Santiago currently holds the position of Senior Software Developer at NodeSource, starting in March 2020. Prior to this role, Santiago worked as a Lead Developer at ionIDe Telematics for a decade, from August 2010 to March 2020. In this position, they led a team of four developers and was responsible for designing and deploying a Multimedia Platform for Medical Management and Entertainment in hospitals, using open-source technologies such as Node.

Before joining ionIDe Telematics, Santiago worked at Enlace Digital Barik as a VoIP Engineer from May 2008 to August 2010. In this role, they designed, implemented, and deployed a SIP/VoIP platform using software such as Asterisk and Kamailio. Santiago also gained experience in Debian server administration during this time.

Santiago's early career includes a role as a Software Developer at Vodafone R&D from July 2003 to June 2006. In this position, they designed and implemented a SIP VoIP stack in Symbian C++ and conducted research on IP technologies for mobile networks, leading to the development of prototypes.
