Martina Don Welathanthri has worked in various roles since 2012. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Trainee Telecommunications Engineer at Etisalat Lanka (Private) Limited, where they were responsible for network operations, switching, radio access network, and intelligent network/node. From 2013 to 2020, they worked as a Business Systems Analyst (Service and Asset Management) at IFS, where they were responsible for software function designing in service management and workforce scheduling and planning of the core ERP product. Martina also had an additional role as process master in Customer-Centric Focus project that developed customer-oriented functionalities in service management. In 2018, they became a Team Lead- Fundraising and Fundraiser at Finnish Red Cross - Suomen Punainen Risti, where they were responsible for regional team lead for the charity organization in fundraising, short-term and long-term goal oriented resource, area and venue planning and execution, and networking with business entities and local SPR offices to collaborate. In 2019, they became a Circular Economy Research Assistant at Tampere University, where they conducted research for CircHubs project on customer value in Circular Economy business market with an extension to the consumer market. Finally, in 2020, they became a Sales Engineer and Sales Development Specialist at Noccela, where they were responsible for prospect approach and making partnerships with IoT platforms to gain market recognition, product and solution deliveries, customer support, and maintaining long-term relationships, solution customization and design according to the demands, and pilot success management to win the sale. In 2022, they became an Adopter Member at FiRa Consortium.

Martina Don Welathanthri's educational history includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Peradeniya (2009-2013), a Master of Science (MSc) in Technology from Tampere University (2017-2019), and an International Business/Trade/Commerce course from the Management Institute of Finland MIF Oy (2020-2021).
