Hakon Hakonarson is a highly accomplished geneticist and physician with extensive experience in academia and industry. Currently serving as the Director of the Center for Applied Genomics and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Childrenās Hospital of Philadelphia, Hakonarson also holds positions as Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Arctic Therapeutics International, Founder and Chief Scientific Advisor at Opus Genomics, and Co-founder and Chief Scientific Advisor at Nobias Therapeutics. Additionally, Hakonarson is a tenured Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and Division of Human Genetics at the University of Pennsylvania and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Scripps Research. Previous roles include Chief Scientific Officer at deCODE genetics and various leadership positions in clinical and research settings at Landspitali University Hospital.
